What is EFT?
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also known as tapping. This amazing tool is best described as 'acupuncture without needles'. EFT combines the cognitive benefits of therapy with the physical benefits of acupuncture to restore your energy and heal your emotions.
By tapping on key meridian end points in the body we send signals back to the brain to tell the body it's safe, this reduces the stress hormones (cortisol & adrenaline) almost instantly.
It has amazing impact on releasing negative emotions and trauma, which then directly impact the body’s physical and emotional responses.
How does EFT work?
The goal of EFT is to balance disturbances in your energy field. More than 5,000 years ago the Chinese recognized a series of energy circuits that run through the body. They called these circuits meridians, and today this concept is the basis for acupuncture and acupressure healing.
When you tap on specific energy meridians found on your face, head, arm and chest, you can release old fears, limiting beliefs, negative patterns and even physical pain. While you tap you talk out loud about the issue you are working to heal. Allowing yourself to emote while simultaneously tapping on the energy points sends a signal to the brain that it’s safe to relax. Our fear response, which is controlled by the amygdala, is lessened.
What can EFT help with?
Anxiety, addiction, trauma, PTSD, infertility, eating disorders, stress, confidence issues, physical pain. It can also help clients to cope with the symptoms and side effects of treatments needed when suffering from chronic illness.
How can I expect to feel after a treatment?
Clients report that they feel lighter and less troubled by the issues they were initially presenting with. Solutions to problem can appear like pops of intuition coming out of nowhere. Pain can be greatly reduced. Anxiety can drop down to nothing. Happiness and healthy values can be easily restored. EFT basically works to remove the blocks that are holding us back from living our best lives.
How much EFT will I need?
When we are group tapping, or working on day to day issues, EFT can help us to feel instantly better. Some of my ten-minute videos can bring almost instant relief from a variety of topics.
However, as with seeing a therapist or joining the gym, we cannot expect to be instantly fit and healed after just one session. When working with deep trauma, anxiety or other complex issues, you should expect to be having 4-6 sessions. I always recommend that we have one session together first, to establish that we have a good rapport. I then recommend that you take one of my treatment plans and we make a commitment to seeing each other for a period of time. I find that 4-6 sessions is usually enough to get to the heart of the matter and evoke measurable improvements. This is a just a guideline, I’ll be able to advise you further in a personal consultation.
